GILDED METAL HIGHLIGHTS. (s. XV).

One of the most notable contributions made by Manises to the history of ceramics is use of gilded metal highlights introduced into Spain by the Arabs which, together with blue decorations, reached their peak in Manises in the 15th century, an era when this ancient ceramic pottery were highly regarded in the main courts of Europe.

POPULAR CERAMICS. (s. XVIII y XIX).

The 18th and particularly the 19th centuries were another noteworthy era in the Manises ceramic production, characterised by the popular tone of the decorations. Without discarding polychromy, this era generated and original style full of colour and vivid imagination influenced to a certain extent by Alcora production.
