Don Enrique Lerma Gimeno was the founder of the company in 1907. He was just 31 years of age and had gained valuable experience by working in a factory specialized in the making of ceramics. Then, he decided to open his own business dedicated to the production of ceramic tableware and other articles, all decorated in the typical style of spanish ceramics.

The method of manufacture was totally craftsmanship orientated, from the production of basic materials within the factory to the completion of the various articles.

In spite of the unreliable methods of transport at the time, the company concentrated on international markets rather than the local and national markets. The merchandise was transported by horse and carts to the various customers and to the port of Valencia for shiping to other destinations.
